Innovate

This mural located at ACES Tech (865 Cleveland Ave.) was commissioned by the Greater Columbus Arts Council and owner Aaron Carmack of ACES Tech. Talking to Aaron about his company, we wanted to incorporate both the liveliness/colorfulness of the Milo Arts District and also hint at the type of work ACES does as a tech company. We agreed to have an overlay of a fuzzy rainbow screen on a traditional TV as it beckons to how technology has moved forward and changed over the years--and also symbolizes how the Milo-Grogan neighborhood has moved forward and changed over the years. I talked to my client about the importance of the neighborhood's history in innovation--first starting off as an industrial neighborhood for trains and trams and then how it was broken apart by the freeway, and finally how it is becoming known for the arts and giving back to the community and how the community is coming together through art. This mural is important as it is one of the first buildings one sees when entering into the Milo-Grogan neighborhood. We want it to stand out with the notion to Milo-Grogan's history, the current innovation of the community/businesses, and how our neighborhood is full of bright people with bright ideas!
