Description:
This painting captures the interconnected arms of three generations—grandmother, mother, and myself—woven together to symbolize the enduring ties of lineage. The fabric used as the foundation for this piece is a relic of generational continuity. Using fabric that has been passed down from grandmother to mother to daughter instead of traditional canvas in order to further represent the connection between the three and how we may come from different generations but we all come from the same cloth.

The arms and hands explore the complex dynamics of nature versus nurture, reflecting the inherited traits, lessons, traumas, and stigmas that flow from one generation to the next. My hand, shown open in a "stop" gesture, serves as a visual declaration: a refusal to perpetuate the cycle of trauma. This piece is a meditation on healing, resilience, and the choice to end generational pain, creating space for a new legacy to begin.
